Athens 2008 Cup - Third round results

     Third round for the Athens 2008 baseball Cup. The unbeaten Spartakos won Salonika too, that took the victory from Seirios the other day though, Seirios that had a very bad first inning without pitchers. Marousi had a smashingly defeat from Igetes that lost later on though from a team that turned around a loosing game, Eyriali.
     So this weekend we had:

     Athens 2008 baseball Cup is being continued at Athens with a good Igetes performance that lost only from the powerful Spartakos. Milonas played against Marousi2004 and Seirios against the tournament hosting team.
     So this weekend we had:

Game report vs. Eyriali - 13/May

     A very nice game at Patras. We where loosing with a 4 null score till the fifth inning where we tied it 5 to 5. And being next to each other only till the last offence where we extracted the victory with one run apart. Our pitcher (Papageorgaki) throw pretty good and gave 9 hits to the opponent, more than ours but bullet blanks. Also nice was the triple from Varvaresou, only a drop to the ocean though as our offence haven't showed yet its abilities.

Game report vs. Marousi2004 - 06/May

     Powerful Marousi started early putting runs and kept this dynamic till the end of the game. Seirios had a less potent offence in each inning and the 13 hits that our pitcher allowed didn't left any chance to our defense. A bat aspect of our team was the 5 errors in favor of the green team. Good points of our team where the double play of Marti S. and Amanatiadi and the triple hit of Varvaresou.

Game report vs. Dafni - 05/May

     This game was kept in a very low score. Our pitcher game more than double hits and our defense made 3 errors, meaning a bad appearance to a team that was easily hittable. Good aspects of our team where Varveri double hit and the two double plays of Karambela, Michopoulou, Amanatiadi and 2x Varveri.

SEIRIOS GIRLS GO TO THE FINAL-FOUR

     Sunday, time: 16:00. The game against Pharos has come to an end and Seirios with his win seals the ticket to the playoffs and as one of the best 3 teams in Hellas, position held for the last 4 championships (Juniors and Women), meaning since the winter of 2007. Third again in the first round (round robin) that ended this Sunday.
     A pause will be made now for the schools exams and National exams, and  later we will face Eyriali that came second after final sprint, avoiding this way the series with Marousi and putting Dafni to face it.

    Saturday: An expected win for Marousi against Pharos.
   Sunday: In a good day was Eyriali and in a bad was Dafni. In this important game that judged who will be fourth so who will face Marousi in a best of three series, Eyriali send by winning her opponent.
